Hedefler
The UNWIND project’s purpose is to promote the social and economic wellbeing of young adult women with fewer opportunities through upskilling, capacity building & employment mentoring that will ultimately increase the participation of women in the ICT sector and by that way promote gender equality in the labour market in the partner countries & in the EU. The overall objective of UNWIND is to enhance the employability of young adult women through improved ICT skills on web development and self-employed business mentoring as a sustainable pathway to access employment.
The specific objectives are:
- To introduce a holist upskilling and mentoring intervention for low-skilled women interested to enter the ICT sector in the labour market
- To engage low-skilled women in an online bootcamp on web development and prepare their portfolio for presenting their work & seek employment
- To equip low-skilled women with the necessary skills & knowledge to work independently as junior web developers
- To connect low-skilled women with future employers and/or clients and generally the world of business, while being accustomed to networking & PR methods
- To sensitise national and EU stakeholders about the importance of promoting greater participation of women in the ICT sector
- To raise awareness about the opportunities that new technologies & the digital economy have to offer to young adult women seeking stable and/or more flexible employment
The expected results during the project are:
- A distance learning curriculum for building the coding skills of low-qualified young women
- An online coding bootcamp (learning platform) developed, pilot tested & evaluated in TR, DE & GR
- Project portfolios of at least 120 low-qualified young women developed
- Completion certificates of at least 120 women having successfully completed the online course
- Outreach and engagement strategy to encourage (low-qualified) young women to develop their coding competences & skills and pursue a career in ICT developed and promoted
- Enhanced awareness of at least 300 educational authorities, PES and other public or private career guidance and employment support services, CSOs and other relevant stakeholders, on promoting ICT careers to women, and the recruitment of women in the ICT sector*
- Enhanced awareness of at least of 300 low-skilled women about the potential of programming as a career & the different employment opportunities associated with having ICT skills via workshops, EXPO, promotional activities
- Established collaboration with all key actors (employers, educational institutions, certification & public bodies, intermediary organizations, etc) for the the outreach & engagement activities
Ultimately, UNWIND will:
- Enhance the employability of low-qualified women in ICT
- Increase the demand and take-up by low-qualified women to develop their digital competences & skills and pursue a career in ICT
- Promote gender equality in ICT.
